Hey Guys,
I'm the newbie with the 96 yellow savage who posted awhile back. I could really use your advice. My dog dumped my bike (yea, right before he ate my kids homework) Really, he's a 200lb St Bernard and he used my bike as a stepping stool to get to a bird. Knocked it over hard on it's right side. No dents, dings or scratches (it was covered). However I think my handlebars are now out of whack. My husband says I'm nuts and that they have always been that way. It looks like the left side is forward of the right by 1/2". I took them off and tried to re-seat them. The threaded shafts were not bent, but the chrome round things with rubber innards do not lay flush on either the top or bottom. My question is should they lay flush or are they just decorative? Also, can misaligned handlebars affect handling? I've driven the bike and it feels okay, but I'm too new at this to know what normal handling is. Should I be worried or is my husband right?
Thanks,
Sharon
